Here are tips on how to hide it from family friends etc
1.Hide it from the start. Don’t fess up that you’re restricting after the first month. That’s a surefire way for people to start monitoring how much you eat. Keep your restriction hidden until you can’t hide it anymore.
2. Pretend like you don’t feel good. A lot of people tend to lose their appetite when they’re sick, so faking a cold or a horrible sickness and saying you have a “bad appetite” because of it could get you out of eating. Also, they might not care if you only eat soup because a lot of people eat broth/soup when they’re sick.
3. Go vegan/vegetarian. By sticking to eating mostly veggies, under the guise that you are “protecting the animals,” you can get away with only eating mostly low cal foods and no one will question it.
4. Do high res. High res will allow you to eat more food around your family and friends while still losing weight. Plus, if you stick to the “healthy calorie deficit” high res and not the “starvation” high res (look at:
https://edrevival.forumotion.com/t8-healthy-high-restriction-vs-unhealthy-high-restriction#13 for info on what those are), then you won’t get any health issues and can keep losing weight.
5. Save your calories for eating with other people. If you only eat with other people, they are more likely to assume you eat alone too. It also avoids having to answer the question of “Do you ever eat anything?” when you eat in front of them.
6. Don’t do super baggy clothes- do layers. People can obviously see that the clothes don’t fit you. They can all see that the size medium shirt you wore a few months ago is too big on you and that you’ve lost weight. To combat this, wear layers. Wear enough layers so it looks like your clothes still fit you.
7. Blame any health issues on dehydration or lack of sleep. Since EDs can cause dehydration and fatigue, you can blame your fainting spells on dehydration and your brain fog on lack of sleep. A little truth is better than a big lie.
8. Use the “fake eating tricks” if you have to eat with someone. The “fake eating tricks” are: cutting food up into small pieces, pushing food around your plate, talking more, spitting food out into a cup, hiding food in your clothes, and throwing food away. These can trick other people into believing thst you’re eating.
